    You could say it’s child’s play

    Our educational ethos is structured around the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS ) guidelines from the British Association for Early Childhood Education, along with the Every Child Matters Outcomes initiative from the Government.

  • There are seven aspects of learning and these are divided into three prime areas and four specific topics;

    • Personal, Social & Emotional Development
    • Physical Development
    • Communication & Language
  • Specific subjects include:

    • Literacy
    • Mathematics
    • Understanding the World
    • Expressive Arts & Design
  • Education experts recognise that youngsters are at their most receptive when learning through;

    • Playing & Exploring
    • Active learning
    • Creating & thinking critically
  • Known as the Characteristics of Effective Learning, we fully embrace the EYFS approach, and each child is individually observed and assessed by our fully qualified staff, including our accredited Early Years teachers.

    Your child’s learning journey at Ragamuffins is captured via a collection of observations, photographs and pieces of artwork. We also encourage parents to share contributions and any milestones achieved in the home, away from nursery.
